This organic handwoven Himalayan nettle fabric features a unique loose weave, offering a distinct texture compared to our plain weave nettle. It is available in lengths starting from half a metre. Orders of multiple metres will be supplied as a continuous length.
Please note that this fabric is in its loomstate — it has come straight from the loom and has not been washed or treated. We strongly recommend pre-washing before tailoring, as a small amount of shrinkage is expected.
 
From harvesting and retting the nettle to hand-spinning the fibres and weaving the cloth on a traditional loom, every step is done by hand — a time-consuming and skillful process. This fabric comes from Sankhuwasabha, a region in eastern Nepal renowned for producing fine quality nettle yarns.
 
The Himalayan giant nettle is widely known as “Allo” in Nepalese.
