Haoshow – the Haori Shawl
A beautiful, versatile piece designed to wrap you in natural warmth and quiet elegance.
Our newly woven Shinra Nanasai – 森羅七彩 – Shawl is a celebration of nature, craftsmanship, and timeless beauty.
Each one-of-a-kind piece is handwoven in Nepal by a master artisan with over 40 years of experience.
The silk threads are step-dyed by hand using traditional natural dyes with medicinal properties, bringing to life seven natural shades – from warm madder orange to calming indigo, all gently balanced by the soft tone of undyed hemp silk. The soft colour transitions reflect Shinra Nanasai, meaning “the colours of life within nature” – a poetic concept that speaks of harmony and vitality.
More than just something to wear, Haoshow is something to experience.
A Commitment to Craft and Community
We believe in giving back to the community that makes this artistry possible. That’s why 40% of the proceeds from each shawl will be reinvested into the Nepalese weaving workshop, supporting the training of new artisans and maintaining the traditional equipment.
By purchasing this shawl, you’re not only embracing the beauty of nature, but also helping to preserve and nurture a rich heritage of craftsmanship.
The Spirit of the Artisan
Every Haoshow shawl carries the passion and dedication of skilled weavers who pour their heart into each piece.
Working in a small dyeing and weaving workshop nestled in Nepal, they carefully blend tradition with innovation, creating something truly unique. Their hands tell stories through the fabric – stories of resilience, skill, and a deep respect for nature.Style it like a haori or wear it as a statement shawl – either way, Haoshow wraps you in grace and the quiet joy of handmade craft.
A Story from the Producer
From the very beginning, I was deeply involved in the creation of this shawl — every step filled with excitement and intention. My first attempt at dyeing the silk threads with Maharangi didn’t produce the vibrant purple I imagined. Instead, it revealed a soft, elegant grey with a whisper of purple — unexpectedly refined and beautiful.Still, my heart longed for a true purple to complete the rainbow-like spectrum I envisioned. Eventually, by combining lac and indigo, the dye master brought that colour to life — a moment that felt almost magical.
This shawl was born through challenges, discovery, and joy — all woven together in a small workshop in Nepal. When it finally arrived, complete after months of anticipation, it felt alive in my hands.
I knew this creation needed a name that reflected its spirit:Shinra Nanasai – 七彩 (Seven Hues), drawn from 森羅万象 (Shinra Banshou), meaning everything in the universe. It represents the harmony of nature’s colours woven into each piece.
Only 26 shawls were made including mine, each uniquely dyed and patterned — no two are exactly the same.
I hope yours becomes part of your own joyful journey. – Hiromi
